(((OOC: The first Rp, It gives me such great joy I'm in tears. Well, on with it then. Better make it count! ))) Sorrel sat alone on a soft bed of ferns. Her fiery eyes fixed on the sky, searching for an answer to her problem. The sun was fading along the horizon, painting the clouds a pink, fishy colour. Almost salmon, she though to herself, which was completely irrelevant to her problem. Not that this was anything new. Some of the time she found it hard to focus on one thing, and today was no exception and she had bigger fish to fry. A sly grin crept over her face. She had made a joke, and not a bad one. One yes, she was a wily one. She started making a low rasping noise in her throat, laughter. No one in the world would ever be able to mount up to her. Just then she chocked on her spit. Leaning over she had a small coughing fit and spat up saliva on the dirt away from the ferns. Ah yes, she was something else.

Nightrun paused as she heard coughing up ahead. The wolf sounded like she was choking, and even from this distance the scent gave Sorrel's identity away. Quickly Nightrun rushed to her friend's side, wanting to make sure the black wolf wasn't suffocating herself. Just as she arrived, however, the small wolf spat out a large loogie of saliva in front of her. "... Thanks," Nightrun growled as she took a small step back to avoid the puddle of bodily fluid. "Are you alright?"

"Could be better," Sorrel replied horsely with a small smile. As soon as she saw Nightrun coming she dropped her gaze and bowed her head, flattening her ears as a sign of indominance. The last thing she wanted was to anger her Superior. She held the posture for several moments longer before straitening up. "So," she asked casually, "whatch ya been doing lately?"

Nightrun laughed at her friend. Though she appreciated the obedience, the young black wolf had never really gone for the "bow down before the alpha" thing. She knew [insert alpha male's name here] enjoyed it, but Nightrun would rather be seen as an equal to her pack mates. "The same as you," Nightrun reminded Sorrel in response to her question. "And the rest of the pack." Nightrun shivered as she finished her sentence, running her tongue quickly down her spine to warm herself. It had rained last night, and the damp, chill air still hung about the valley.

(((OOC: I thought Kaaski was Alpha male?)))
She got up stiffly after sitting in the same place for half the morning. If she kept this up her joins where going to be worst than the pack elders. Stifling a yawn she turned her amber eyes towards Nightrun. "No problems I should know about?" she asked with a twitch of her tail. At the moment she was thinking about young Feather, and if she was angry at the pack for forbidding her to see the lone wolf.

[OOC: No, he's making another character to be the alpha. He hasn't thought of a name yet, though. Dx]
"No," Nightrun replied, suspicion now lining her words. Did Sorrel know something she wasn't letting on to? But her friend's amber eyes gleamed with suspicion as well, as if Sorrel had been expecting a different answer. The young alpha kneaded the ground, becoming anxious with the tense surrounding the two friends. There wasn't any problems Nightrun could think of- "Oh." Nightrun's anxiety was quickly replaced by hostility as she realized what Sorrel was trying to get at. "If you're thinking about Feather, I haven't second-guessed my decision about her and I don't intend to." But though her words were firm, it was a lie. She had spent more than a few sleepless days thinking about Feather. Forbidding her to see Skythe, the human dog, had seemed like an obvious choice at the time. Now, however, the alpha female was having second thoughts...

Sorrel closed her eyes for several moments in silence, trying to gather her jumbled thought. Nightrun didn't trust her. I'm being too obvious, she thought to herself. If Nightrun could sense her feelings then she must try better in the future to conceal them. The hostility in the air made the fur on her shoulders stand up with tension.
But it was too late now. She was on a roll. "Of course, I never expected you too." and though her words were gracious there was a slight hint of mockery in her tone. Her amber eyes blazed with hatred and jealousy, but it was gone quickly like a flash of light. One could not be sure if that is what they really saw.
Feeling as though this was getting a little out of hand she found that, like always, this was going to be her place to apologize. "Forgive, Nightrun, for my terrible behavior. I didn't sleep well last night with rain and I came here for some peace and quiet. I will see to it that my emotion don't get out of control again." She duck her head and crouched down close to the ground with her tail between her legs.

Nightrun sighed. Sorrel was obviously still bitter about becoming Beta, even though she did the same amount of work as any of them in building the pack. She could make excuses, but Nightrun knew her friend wouldn't soon forgive her for taking the place at the head of the Putnar. "It's alright, Sorrel," she growled sadly. The two of them had been such good friends before they had discovered the valley...

Sorrel suddenly found herself unable to meet Nightrun's eyes, so fixed her blank gaze on the ground infront of her. It took a few moments before she redeemed enough confidence to look her Alpha in the face again. "Nightrun," she paused, "I truly am sorry." Face brightening she thought of a suggestion, "how's about we go for a good old fashion stroll, for good times sake?" She suggested.

Nightrun's eyes lit up at the suggestion, and she eagerly agreed. Maybe a long walk in the woods or the mountains would clear things up a little bit between the two friends. So the two set off farther into the woods, walking in side by side in silence. "So, what do you think I should do about Feather and the Human dog, Sorrel?" Nightrun spoke finally. The alpha knew it was a tender subject between the two friends, as both wolves had different opinions, but Nightrun needed her friend's advice.

Kuma was woken up by the sound of choking. She peeked out of her den and saw Nightrun going to see Sorrel. She listened for a few seconds and got up and walked out of her den. As she started to walk towards them, but they then started to walk away, farther into the forest. Being as curious as she is, she stepped out of the den and started to follow. Crouching quietly, she followed them. She then stood up and sprinted towards them. "Hello, you two. Can I join you on your walk?"

Nightrun barely contained herself from jumping around and snarling at the intruder, until she realized it was only Kuma. "Of course," she replied, though her thoughts were not as sure as her words. If Nightrun wanted a truthful answer from her friend as to what she should do about Feather, they would likely have to be alone- Sorrel wasn't the most friendly wolf, though she tried hard. Then again, Kuma was a newer but trusted member of the pack, and she, too, might have a legitimate opinion...

Kuma dipped her head respectivly. "Thank you Nightrun." she replied. She set off walking after the others.

"So, as I was saying," Nightrun continued, hoping Kuma would add her opinion without having to be asked, "I hate to admit it, but I'm sort of starting to second-guess my judgement on Feather. Do you think it was too harsh? I mean, we certainly don't want anything to do with the Humans, but..." Nightrun left the sentence unfinished, in the hopes that the other two might finish the thought for her.

Kuma was thinking hard about what to say. "Well, dealing with the Two-legs is bad, she could get hurt in a tap or something. You can never be too harsh when it commes to safety!" she said thoughtfully.
